I think your pay cut may be longer than three years. Even with signing and retention bonuses you’d have to work a lot to hit 170k at the regionals. You might get there at a lcc or cargo operation if you can get on there.
Not directed at you but the OP. Do a search for the W2 threads, I don't think airlines pilots make as much as you think. Unless you want to work 100 hours a month and never be home. Also factor in a possible furlough. 12 years in the airlines and 5 at a major, was well under $170K this last year. I don't think I've ever been over $170K in 12 years. Things might be moving fast today but a pension and $170K would be hard for me to walk away from if you are only looking at the money. Also 2 worthless weeks of vacation this year for me, all in shoulder seasons. How many weeks of vacation do you currently get?
