In fact my ULCC right now looks at PIC as a detriment and thinks it makes you more likely to be un trainable or have bad habits. A320 type trumps cl-65 or EMB-175 pic right now. Plus all 3 majors already fly the bus, less chance you’ll fail.
This isn’t data, this is opinion and anecdotal statements. Nothing wrong with opinion, everyone has them. Why is it that UA is hiring AA rj folks right and left if every rj ca hurts every legacy’s feed? Is it possible that your ULCC looks negatively at PIC because they think, with the sub-par pay and QOL, the rj ca/lca will be gone in no time? I can see the opinion that a 15k hour ca may be more inclined to be more difficult to mold to the new SOPs, but viewing your typical younger rj CA/LCA, who’s showed continued improvement and progression as untrainable..?
My own anecdotal evidence still shows legacy classes being filled with rj CAs/LCAs. Obviously this well will begin to dry up, so yes, requirements will continue to shift - degree, pic, etc. But to state as fact that RJ fo to ULCC fo is the better way to a legacy isn’t supported at all.
