My own anecdotal evidence still shows legacy classes being filled with rj CAs/LCAs. Obviously this well will begin to dry up, so yes, requirements will continue to shift - degree, pic, etc. But to state as fact that RJ fo to ULCC fo is the better way to a legacy isn’t supported at all.
I agree I've seen little indication of predatory hiring practices (targeting specific competitors' pilots) in the years I've been in the industry. Closest I've seen is the legal workaround of a certain regional paying bonuses for "united express experience"

Paying a bonus for a type rating has a good business justification... probably not going to fail out of training with time in type.
