Say I get awarded A320 NYC out of indoc but I want SLC. (Any plane but prefer A320) How does the process work for getting back to SLC. Is it easier to switch planes or stay in the same plane or does it not matter? Meaning Is it easier to bid the A320 and transfer to SLC on the A320 or does it not matter say I was a NYC 7ER Pilot it would it take just as long waiting for the next AE (minus going through training again) What is a realistic time frame of me having to commute before I can be awarded a different base?
I live in Seattle, new hire. Would it be unwise to bid on the 320 in LAX/SLC in anticipation that it’ll be coming to SEA? Or is it not recommended to bid anything on company plans/rumors until they are official and delivering (320 to SEA for example). Bottom line, if west coast is available outside of SEA, should I take west coast, any jet, and hope for SEA and jet type swap on the next AE? Apologies up front if I’m mixing peas and carrots; trying to understand the lingo and process.
