I think part of the issue is there isn’t a long term future for any regional just looking at hiring. You can throw the boat out and offer everything, but that defeats the purpose of a regional keeping costs down. Mainlines know this- just read the 717 section of the recent AE on DLNet.
For whatever it’s worth, any component of retention that alters the flow LOA would have to be approved by DALPA. Right now they’re in negotiations for their own contract, so it would be back burner or at best tied in with those talks.
I’d expect a monetary retention right now rather than seniority.
ding ding ding, Delta wants regional pilots flying regional pay as long as possible, ALPA would gladly bring you guys and gals up, but I’d expect fences and better benefits for the DL pilots, it all sounds great in theory but when your locked on an RJ for 5 years to keep training costs down, while off the street hires are bypassing you to the 7ER you might not want that deal…either way it’s an approaching problem that gives pilots a ton of leverage and choice
