When I called about a replacement strap, they suggested putting a rivet or a screw through the strap to secure it to the bag. So much for aesthetics. I'm bringing my LW out of retirement for the next trip until I overcome my cheapness and spend 25% of the purchase price on a new bag strap. The bag handled a week (4 legs) worth of clothes plus 2 liters from duty free, but the strap is a weak point.
Where was the bag when it came off? Were you operating the flight and had the bag up front with you? Or was it in an overhead bin or belly as checked luggage?
