We all talk about it and study it but until it happens to you it really sets in stone, and I am glad this happened in a tough sim scenario rather than in the real aircraft. Even though there was no threat to loss of life, it was still a big deal but an even greater learning lesson.

On a sappy side note, Delta is the airline I want to spend the rest of my life at. We have a 100k bonus at my airline to flow or get hired OTS and I plan on walking away from that bonus in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone who has commented so far, the help is what I expected from your fine Pilot group. I’ll report back after the interview!

If you are shooting a localizer to mins with a failed engine and go 15 knots too fast before landing safely in real life you’d be getting pats on the back from everyone. Seems like a bogus reason to fail a checkride. Maybe a “yeah just watch your speed a little more on final” debrief. But what others said it won’t be an issue.
