If oil is at $108/barrel today at the beginning on March, I can't wait to see how high it is going to be at the end of August right before labor day.

The price of oil is only going to go up and up and up. This country needs to kick its addiction to oil. Alternative fuels are the answer. Why drill more domestically when you are going to screw up some of the most sacred environment on the planet, just for a short term solution that is like putting a band-aid on a gushing wound!

There is only so much oil in the ground. If we drill more domestically, we will eventually use up all of that supply, and guess what...we will be right back where we started. Electricity is the cheapest known way to power an automobile (at about 60 cents per gallon of gas equivalent). Electricity can be generated by completely renewable energy (wind, hydro, solar). Why deal with developing super expensive oil shale if some of most sacred environment on planet earth. Only an idiot would choose option two.


High oil prices are one of the few things that has the ability to completely destroy our economy. Are we going to let this happen, or are we going to do something about it??

I am going to do something about it.
Here are some things you can do:
Stop driving old, inefficient, gas guzzling cars
Start buying hybrid or plug in hybrid cars
Vote for legislation requiring a big percentage of your electricity to come from renewable energy (wind, hydro, solar)
Vote for a candidate that wants to kick america's addiction to oil
Tell your representatives you want legislation that gives tens of billions of dollars of research money to firms developing alternative energy. It will be the best investment our nation EVER made (maybe better than investing in fighting WW2).

Until we switch to an alternative energy as the main source of fuel for our economy, the price of oil is only going to go up and up and up.
