AFAIK notifying of your duty before the RAP starts does not change that. Don't do reserve, so feel free to correct me.
It doesn't really matter when crew scheduling will just make up whatever interpretation of the CBA they feel like to suit their needs and tell you to call the CP if you feel otherwise. Your best bet is to just let them call you at the beginning of the RAP and then there's no argument.
