Noble? How about educated, aware, financially prepared and taking an active role (not just by refusing extra flying). The "1-year point" was an approximation, and I was subscribing to the "good faith negotiations" concept -- I was doing everything and more to help the company prosper while we bargained for a contract, yet they never engaged in honest, open discourse with us.

P.S.
Ambivalence,
noun; an uncertainty as to which approach to follow.
