Never really thought about or looked at this before. Its for disability if not mistaken, so while yes in theory it pays pretty well for how little it costs, the web site says 85percent of avg wages up to a max of (2021 rate) of $900 (forget the exact amount) per week.
Would that not then be subtracted from our company LTD insurance? I thought any taxable income (which in NJ this SDI benefit is taxable) is used to reduce our LTD benefit payments.
So I’m interested to know if others have used it and if so how it played out for them. Always good to be informed and hope we don’t need it
