I guarantee my 4 buddies that are 12 year CAs at SWA, would describe themselves as flying their lines and “putting in a little extra effort” and they are making 370-400 as 12 year CAs
OK lets do some math. A topped out FO is making $171/trip. To make $300k they need to do 1754 tfp in a year or 146/month. That's picking up 1 extra 3 day at premium per month, which is easy these days. To make $400k as a captain (245/tfp) they need to average 136 tfp/month. Those are JV numbers and barely breaking a sweat. To make 370 they basically just fly their line and let the work rules take care of the rest, with premium added on regularly.

And remember, we're talking about FO's who are intentionally bypassing. The senior guys at the top of the FO pay scale. Not 3rd year FOs.
