I will never say never WRT furloughs at any Airline. However, if I was playing the odds vs the legacies, I’d say the odds of furloughs are much higher this year at the legacies with high exposure to long haul international travel and no fuel hedges than at Southwest. So, if you’re looking for the most security at the bottom of a seniority list, I would personally pick Southwest over the competition for the reasons I just mentioned. If you had asked me 6 months ago though I would have told you to go to Delta or United most likely. It just goes to show how quickly things can change in the world and you can only make the best decision for yourself with the information you have at the time.
