I agree. It'd probably take many hours to type the list on what we're dependent on China for. If they decided to invade Taiwan about all we could do is send a strongly worded letter. I think China also holds a lot of the USA's debt. We need to get away from depending on China for so much of our stuff, just like NATO countries need to get away from depending on Oil/Gas from Russia.

The US debt that China holds - gives them absolutely ZERO power over us. At the sovereign level we could just rip that up - what are they going to do? Sue us?
However, we need to get away from being totally dependent on China for almost all our cr@p. Have you tried finding stuff NOT made in China? I always look for non-Chinese stuff, but 3/4 of the time, there is no other option. We need to wean ourselves off the Chinese teat now - 'cause in the very near future they will cut us off anyway. Hello lost decade while we rebuild our domestic supply chains.
