as far as I can tell, the rule is a carryover from the military (like the rest of our uniforms lol) and there is no reason not to allow it.

If customer facing FAs and gate agents can have them, I’m guessing the company would not be too opposed to pilots having them too. (Senior pilots in flt ops leadership roles are probably another story)
