I don't think our health insurance "sucks". I think it is like most everything these days: it has gotten more expensive and it is not serviced as well as it once was. Delta is self-insured and our plans are managed by UHC. It is expensive for the little things sometimes but if you get really sick it's very nice to not have to worry about getting treated. If you are part of the gold HSA they put over $2000/year into your HSA if you jump through a few hoops. That's not my definition of "sucks". YMMV
You get the same $2000 for the silver plan which now is very inexpensive(approx. $100/month for family). The tradeoff is higher deductibles and out-of-pocket costs. I don't think the options are bad, just expensive for the "good" plans. Like anything insurance-related, it's all about your risk-tolerance and financial situation. I get the silver plan with money in the bank to pay the deductibles if something big happens.
