You can answer a question about why a student has two moms to a 3rd grader by saying, "because they do". There is no "right" to "free speech" to my minor children. You are conflating two separate things of course. Free speech to discuss why the Coronavirus started in China, or Biden is a bad president, or to suggest the vaccine may not be effective in preventing you from getting covid, just keeping you out of the hospital (all will get you banned from Facebook to this day, or off Twitter) should not be squelched just because you don't like the opinion.

If I want my kids indoctrinated into thinking that Johnny can be a girl if he wants. If I want him/her taught that there are no sexual norms that tend towards a healthier happier life, then I'll teach them that. I already accept that they are supposedly taught about their bodies and sex ed in the 5th grade. There is no reason on god's green earth that they need to contemplate what orientation they are long before puberty sets in.

I also teach them to live and let live. People make choices every day, some good, some not. That's life. All choices will have some consequences. Help people deal with the consequences of their bad choices when possible. Treat all things with kindness and sympathy, but that does not condone all choices. When they are older and make their own choices, that'll be their own life to live.

I worked as a substitute teacher for a few years during my previous furloughs. I'd say about 95% of the teachers I came across I'd personally let have a discussion with my children about any topic. but there were also at least 5% (and I live in a very conservative area) that I wouldn't want to teach my children the first thing about sexuality, cultural norms.
Teachers are agents of the government when they are at work. The government can tell its agents not to tell kids that they were born the wrong way when they are on duty as teachers working as agents of the government. I live in Florida as well. I don't have kids, but from what I'm told by people who do, it's actually pretty easy to home school or start small schools, or whatever parents want to do. The people who have a problem with the bill can just pull their kids out of school and teach them all about transgenderism and take them to gay bars all day if they want. Even better, for each kid that a school system loses, they lose funding. So it's a win win. Where are we at this point anyway, in the U.S.? Almost dead last in the 'developed' world for math and science, the stuff that actually matters. The fact that there is even a serious discussion with people arguing that one can simply change their gender because they say so, proves we're way down the list on the science part at least.
