It has changed. I’m part time and I’m not based at PSM or PDK. Also you can go part time in less than a year. The process is that you are full time as an FO and during the Captain upgrade. Once you have 100 hours as Captain you can go part time. If you were hired as a DEC your initial training and first three rotations are as an FO but you are paid as a Captain. Not everyone can go part time as they only allow a percentage of the pilots to be part timers.
