per our most recent vacancy, it is technically correct that any base is obtainable for a new hire, but in actuality it depends on your in class seniority as well as the equipment you are assigned. NYC and CVG are available on the 900, and MSP, DTW, and ATL are available on the 200. Problem is, you don’t get to bid for the equipment. Only the base. And there are only a handful of actual openings available outside of NYC900 (there is no NYC200 anymore). That said, you are almost guaranteed to get NYC900 as your base. And once you get 900, the odds of getting to ATL or MSP anytime in the next 18months (seat locked to the 900) are very low. Those are the most senior bases on the 900.
as far as training, you do your indoc and general subjects training at home. That takes usually 2 weeks. Then you will come to MSP for in person systems training as well as all of your sims.
