This kind of feels like they decided they won’t be able to keep up with attrition and already aren’t flying some of the fleet. Might as well take the extra hit and go single fleet instead of spin their wheels in the sand trying to keep up with ever increasing attrition.
That's essentially what was said in the email and on the employee website, but the fact that the current plan for Horizon has zero details past "park 32 airplanes, get 12 replacements eventually" is going to both increase attrition and reduce the ability to attract new pilots makes me very skeptical it'll end well.
