So is the reason that they would prefer someone with the type rating that they already know for to fly and operate the aircraft? Other than making training depts lives easier they still have to take the full course so not seeing an advantage compared to hiring RJ pilots. Also if they passed a 121 course before they would kinda know how things go (firehose, cooperate to graduate)
You don’t seem to get it. UAX feed is an integral part of the UA business model. THEY WANT YOU TO SPEND AS MUCH TIME AT THEIR REGIONALS AS POSSIBLE. Better still, they want to hire away pilots working for their competitors (like NK or F9) to hurt their business models. They would rather hire another legacies REGIONAL pilots than hire their own.
