When airlines lose operational control it effects safety. Jetblue has already been shut down by FAA once for this.
I agree that operational chaos and pressures can reduce safety margins. Pilots have done a great job keeping the operation safe and avoiding the unthinkable despite the above mentioned. That can be said for other airlines pilot groups as well.
