Ya know it’s just sad to watch. I don’t see the pilots at any other domestic airline of our size wondering about survival/growth. This boils down to leadership and communication, and even if it’s NOT the case, it at least feels like our management is either arrogant, incompetent or some version of both.
This industry is contracting and changing with real logistical challenges regarding pilot shortages, staff shortages, international and business travel recovery, fuel prices and possible consolidation and with no clear roadmap for how we grow/survive it’s incredibly disconcerting, as people who see challenges, plan accordingly, communicate effectively and execute….. to see our leadership seemingly focused on their version of being “fun” and “nice” and “caring”…. Which right now, seems a little low on the priority list. Like flying with a Captain around thunderstorms who’s radar is at the 10 mile range and they’re worried about whether their catering is correct.
I think a bunch of us, just get on here and speculate and rumor mill is because because of a swimming lack leadership, whether that lack of leadership stems from arrogance or incompetence.
Anyway…. It’s understandable on our part, trying to navigate these waters with virtually no ability to steer, and a captain who seems asleep at the wheel, telling us how awesome they are and how much they care.
