Spent a fair bit of time trolling these treads but I haven’t seen an answer to the following.
I am currently in New Zealand and won’t be moving the family back to the mainland until the kids have finished uni in around 4 years. How would gateway work in this case. I will be shooting for LAX or ANC base.
I assume the company book and pay for gateway tickets. If I hold an address in Hawaii would this work or does my home address have to be on the mainland.
I have seen on the threads that the company will pay the equivalent of your gateway fare if you travel somewhere else. How does this work in practice. For example would they buy a ticket to NZ then deduct the difference from my pay or would I pay for the ticket and claim as an expense.
Would the 777 or 747 be best for this.
