The difference (to pilots) is semantics. To the company, it could mean huge tax consequences. That is why companies prefer a signing bonus.
It is the amount that matters, not the name. Companies benefit by delay tactics, no matter the end game.
Of course not. You give a false choice. They company will never offer more of a signing bonus than the cost of retro.
Remember last time, how they "made up the cost of the contract in six months"? We got played, badly. The NC has already admitted making changes to our vacation. Do you really think those changes aren't designed to benefit the company?
Just like "lie flat seats", we will get played again.
Seems like one area will be Jumpseats instead of deadheads.
Be very, very careful when you consider how to vote.
