SY + G4 would make a lot more sense at face value than anything involving AS.
Not that mergers make much sense to pilots or that pilot opinion even matters but I don't see why G4 and AS would want to merge. They have nothing in common. Nothing. Also those currently running G4 like to be in the driver's seat. It would take an incredible amount of money to make them shut up and go away, at an already overvalued company.

If G4 is going to grow by M&A I see them acquiring smaller companies and being the driver. G4/SY is very likely. Probably Breeze too if they actually get a useful number of 220s on property before they run out of money. I don't see G4 getting acquired by a larger company unless that company is willing to pay 50% over market value. Maury still owns 29% of the company and this company is his baby.

Right now they have their hands full keeping the place staffed while pushing everyone to 120% N1 to get through the busy seasons. Contract negotiations are at a total impasse and the company is digging in. Way too much drama for an M&A to be in the works. They are task saturated with normal ops.
