Definitely an overly optimistic outlook by today's standards. Biting one of the first hooks thrown in the water is kind of what we do. I had a guy that I was flying with recently sim it up pretty well. He said that the days of a traditional union are dead and gone and what we have now is 13,000+ self serving independent contractors gaming the system to their advantage within the confines of a contract. People want a new contract, but they’ll bite on any LOA that provides something on their wish list.
It’s also wildly optimistic for people to think that we’re getting a new contract any time soon. They’re definitely getting their money’s worth out of this one.
