Thanks ahead of time to whomever replies. I have a friend that is flying heavy jets abroad. He holds a Green Card and thus can work legally in the U.S. The only thing missing from his resume is TPIC time and thus he’s considering applying as a DEC at the regionals.

The question at hand is does he need 1,000 hours of Part 121 time specifically or will his experience suffice. Specifically he’s at about 4,500 TT with approximately 2,000 hours B737 SIC and 2,000 hours B777 SIC?

Obviously he’s fairly qualified but is there a specific requirement to have 1,000 hours flown under Part 121 to be considered for a regional DEC position?
