Yes, I have heard that there are some pretty large gaps getting into class and then IOE etc. I have a friend at Commutair that quit while waiting for his CA IOE. At Southern Air I was awarded the B777 from the B747, I was coming up on a recurrent and the company decided not to send me and just wait for my turn for at Boeing for the new type. My last B74 flt was in March and I didn't get into class until August. My IOE then stated in late November. This was all back in 2011. As they say, "Nothing new under the sun".
