True, but they’ll get good schedules and money in the right seat way before they hit the g-line in the left. I tell the people that I fly with not to upgrade until they are a solid line holder, and then only if it is a pay raise. Senior FO’s can make some good money gaming the system and enjoy the scheduling flexibility that seniority provides, especially for those on the WB fleets and those that live in base. We’re not building resumes any more and being a captain just isn’t that important. It’s purely dollars per day and schedules at this point.
Senior WB FO is quite aways away for even people that have been here a number of years, in certain bases even more so. A lot of people also can’t game the system due to personnel circumstance such as child care, so better to get a consistent schedule at a higher rate. For me personally I’m going for QOL but I know people on the junior end just coming off probation and I’m those junior bases already will probably grab it
