Captain at United on the 737 and A320 can be held at 12 bid periods with 165 days available on the line and 500hrs of United flying.
We (FedEx) have the same sort of timeline, maybe a bit longer after bid award to training, but the real issue we're having is with our military guys who bid 757 Captain quickly not being able to meet the 1,000 SIC in 121 Operations rule. Even with the 500 hour military exemption, with our low block hours flown, it'll take them 1 1/2 - 2 years to get it.
