My advice would be to wait until after you complete sims. You will have plenty of time afterward until you start IOE, it’s over a month wait at this point. My class was split in half when we started FTD training. Half continued with the FTD’s and the other half got a week off. Same thing happened with the simulator schedule, but you cannot count on getting that time off. You should have some down time on weekends in between studying to go look at the area with your wife if you choose too. Hope this helps
I agree with this. I had a friend in MSP so I stayed w him when I first moved up, a month before ground school. Then started apartment shopping during training & moved in between ground school and sims. In hindsight would have been MUCH easier to just stay in hotels during training and conduct the move after sims, before OE.
Off topic but make sure you give yourself 2-3 weeks to do your CBTs before ground school starts. They are time-consuming.
