Avoid the “inner ring” suburbs if possible. Quite a few airline folks down in the Lakeville,Farmington and Apple Valley areas. Good schools if you have kids and a pretty painless drive to MSP.

Second this: Lakeville, Farmington, Apple Valley…but will throw in parts of Eagan, Bloomington, and Eden Prairie can be pretty good. If you are ok with a little more drive, Woodbury is rapidly growing and very solid.
When I was in training we had weekends off up to sims, but it’s been a few years so that could not be accurate currently.
