I must be crazy.
Many of us at NK worked here under the Indigo days when it was a 30 plane airline and a little niche where you could make a nice career, alternate to waiting another decade at a regional for legacy lightning to strike. This was after waiting for regional lightning to strike when they were able to turn the majority of applicants away.

In a vacuum, a B6 merger would be a pay bump. It would work out great for some, and turn many others into the commuters they never thought they would be again. Maybe some nice parts of our contract would survive, maybe we would enjoy parts of theirs, but I don’t see the day to day of my job flying a 320 full of people up and down the eastern seaboard as drastically different.

An NK/F9 merger would present some challenges with management, but nothing we haven’t experienced before. I don’t care about snacks, and I’m not afraid to defend my sick calls.

What I do see is a great synergy, a combined company set for extensive growth, a business model that I see frustrations of daily but has also provided me a pretty decent lifestyle. I will never be the envy of the annual W-2 thread, but I see the opportunity to make big strides with a JCBA. I work with great unpretentious people, with the same occasional bad apples you find at any large company, and the F9 crews are the same.

I enjoy going to work and I don’t see that changing with the merger. I must be crazy as well….
