With all due respect, I am barely Gen X, on the older side. 25 years in, 10 years left, and on my 4th company (all involuntary). I would not be unhappy with the chance to fund my kids college funds (because I could not afford kids the first 10 years of my career, so they are still young), and put some extra away for me. I am sure there's plenty of us in that situation, not all 55+ year-olds have been WB captain at a legacy for the last 25 years. Also not asking for violins or crying rivers.
