After spending 20+ years on deployments, time at home and being in control of how much and when you work is huge. I definitely value the time I had at home with my family as a senior first much more than what I could have made chasing promotions. This is just a job, the important stuff in life is not at work.
Anyone who is just starting here needs to read this…and then read it again. The common denominator in most of the divorce stories I have heard over the years was chasing pay and upgrades.
