Should I reverse commute out of Brooklyn? I've been thinking Delta for a long time, but after reading the forums, have some concerns with the commutes to/from NY, among the 3 airports, and with the schedules. United out of EWR (or even BWI) or AA out of JFK are also on my radar. My eventual target, if I'm fortunate enough to work towards it, is widebody to Europe. Thanks in advance for any advice.
You’re crazy for wanting to live in NY in general, not for wanting that as a base. You will have better seniority in NY than in any other base, so that makes sense. Plus as a local you’ll be able to GS more easily and have a better qol vs commuting. Junior WB FO in NY currently has about 5 years at the company.
I would NOT live in NY and commute somewhere else, that would make zero sense. And destroy all of the reasons to live in NY.
My NY friends say the 73 has the best trips, but your seniority will rise so fast in NY that you’ll be able to hold good trips on any aircraft.
