In hindsight…. Southwest without any hesitation. Flown with plenty of guys furloughed from United after 9/11 who then would have gotten the shaft again in 2007. Yet, in 2000 and even in 2001, people were leaving Southwest to go to United.
I still fly with guys who cite the fact they weren’t furloughed 15 to 20+ years ago while their buds at UA, DL, and AA got furloughed as reason number one for reflexively voting yes and for recommending that people come to SWA. It’s like orienting our entire national defense policy today around deterring Japan because Pearl Harbor happened 80 years ago.
And the 737 flying thing? Ya, I am way more than burned out on the 737 and the type of regional-plus flying that SWA does. It’s mind-numbing.
