They suffer from the misconception that the junior pilots would just be bumped out of their base as though vacancy bids, displacements or flushes aren’t things. The first is a given and the latter range from possible to unlikely.

They also forget that JCBA’s take time, SLI will almost assuredly be settled through an arbitrator and fences would probably go up as well. Meaning anyone with a modicum of time on property, and certainly those with enough seniority to drop their entire schedules and fly 7 days a month would most likely upgrade in the junior Spirit bases in South Florida.

Particularly with the attrition rolling through the FO ranks and making ripples with the junior CA’s. Yes, anyone in indoc today can probably assume upgrade will be in the NE B6 bases. Maybe. I’m
sure SoFL will still be junior. But the consummation of either merger possibility is still years from fruition.
