Rick Dominguez (Desi) is one of the smartest and honest men I’ve met. He was the Exec Admin for several MEC Chairmen and two ALPA Presidents. He was effectively fired by the NWA faction of the Delta MEC and again when we failed at the BOD, losing our seats at national.
He was (and probably is) a Delta pilot advocate. He wrote much of our current Section 1. He speaks the language and in contrast to other Delta managers who probably have no idea why we want, or need, scope; Desi gets it.
He does not tolerate fools or liars. I have no idea how he views folks on our negotiating committee. I hear he is working well with them. I have a lot of respect for the man’s abilities.
The man who is now tasked by management to shape SCOPE for the future business plan, which (is no secret) is International expansion. Funny I haven't heard the term "virtual merger" lately but that's the plan JV+equity to circumvent an actual merger which would require alignment of labor groups. I don't know the guy and I don't care. He was our SCOPE guru and now he works for the other side.
