I detest the fact that we have FSBs, but they have a place in our operation. Especially on a Global Fleet with preflight testing for Covid being necessary to enter the country. If a pilot tests positive and there’s not a FSB, it’ll take a minimum of 2.5 hours to fill that position with a SC. If it’s single augmented or a double augment with little head room, now the flight has to be completely re-crewed. Just something to think about…
The biggest problem with our reserve rules it there are no limits on SCs and FSBs. This has to be changed and also when said SCs and FSBs are built. There can’t be a middle of the day SC built and no one is aware of it. If they do something like that, it needs to cost them!!!
