The only thing saving this airline is that demand is through the roof. The travel market is red hot right now, and we're shrinking capacity due to a lack of pilots.
Tell me again how no one is batting an eye or that the pilots have no leverage.
AS isn't the only one cutting flights this summer. Other airlines are as well. But we don't mention that. We only talk the good parts of the other airlines, not their problems (many of which are the same here).
I personally believe this travel demand is representative of those who were locked down and never went somewhere during Covid, and this spring/summer they are going out with a vengeance. As the year progresses, I see that slowing. Don't know how much you're paying attention but pretty much everyone is raising the alarm on where this country's economy is headed in the next 12 months. I don't think it bodes well for the airlines.
