F9 already made a counter, so then B6 makes their counter, makes themselves look as compelling as possible and it keeps going until F9 pays alot more than their original offer and then B6 backs off and lets it go and F9 pays alot higher price making it not as good as a deal as they intended which will result in more debt in the deal. Hayes and B6 are doing a great job making it so compelling though, Franke doesnt know what to do LOL He's going to end up paying way more than what he wanted, but he'll still get his precious airline back before he hands it over to his son.
He's going to walk away. He still wins with the only other major ULCC eliminated. B6 isn't just driving up the price to make a competitor overpay? They didn't do that with AK either. They actually wanted VA but that price DID become cost prohibitive. Look at what AK paid for VA vs what B6 is about to pay for NK. A MUCH greater return on their investment and expedites their plans to expand by about a decade. If you think B6 is just driving up a price for a product they never intend to purchase, then you're not paying attention or don't understand what is going on.
