Flyduke, unlike some folks who seem to want to throw you under the bus here, I really do feel sorry that you had to learn some lessons the really hard way. I do agree with you that a training contract that is not pro-rated is odd. That goes to what I've been saying about researching a company. Since almost everyone else at least pro-rates their contract, a non-prorated contract would throw up a red flag in my mind and make me want to look into the company more. I can't help feeling that you're not fully letting on to what happened in your phone call. If it was a matter of, "Hello, Mr/Mrs HR person, I wanted to thank you again for the job offer. I just received my offer paperwork and noticed information on a training contract in there. That wasn't mentioned during my interview. I'm still very excited about starting with Lynx, and I just wanted to find out about the details of the training contract if that's OK." I don't see how something like that would cause you to loose your offer. However, if that's all you did and you lost the offer, then I frankly wouldn't want to work there. Who would want to work somewhere that doesn't even let you ask a legitimate question? If you got demanding or accused them of purposely not telling you about the training contract, that's a different story...
