True, but that’s not my point.
My point is that Isom appears to be going AROUND the duly elected union negotiators, taking his case directly to the union members. Again, I’m not a labor law expert but that seems like bad faith bargaining tactics.
Imagine you were injured in a rear-end auto accident and the insurance company’s lawyer decided he didn’t want to deal with your legally appointed attorney/representative. So he just showed up at your door, (or sent you a video) trying to “good ol’ boy” you into a settlement. If that happened, the insurance company’s lawyer would be severely sanctioned by the court. What Isom did was very much the same thing. We’re REPRESENTED by our union leaders, negotiators, and legal counsel. Isom should negotiate WITH THEM!
Seems to me that either management is not smart enough to realize that they’re bargaining in bad faith or they think that our union is not smart enough to realize that management is bargaining in bad faith. Either way, one of them should be offended.
