A VERY sizable chunk of our trips are incredibly inefficient, with many trips around the 11-15 hour range. Even in the world of regionals, that's pretty garbage. It's essentially an insult in saying our time isn't worth anything. Now you countered with "min garuntee[sic]", but our daily minimum is only 3:30 (again, very low), and has HUGE carveouts for first and last days. This is really the only way we can even end up with trips at such low credits. Certainly they could work on min day, trip and duty rigs, and that would go a long way in solving the issues at hand, but as it stands now, that's not the case.
All that to say, if you're junior now, you still have a shot at avoiding some of the trash heap trips, and of course that's a bypass of seniority. Under a typical PBS, get ready to only see min guarantee for the month, with minimum days off.
This is why if we can get decent trip and duty rigs with PBS I think it'll be an overall win for the pilots. Most of my SAP process is dropping low credit trips for higher credit.
If a 4 day can't pay less than 20 hours then open time will be cleaned up before you know it.
