If we all wanted to sleep at home everynite in our own beds none of us would have ever become pilots!!!
And when did being lucky become part of getting hired? Your Lucky if you win the lotto. Being hired by a good airline takes way more work than to just say you got lucky. Sounds like someone might have gotten the NO Thank You letter in 2008.

If anyone in here thinks that this is a smooth sailing career all the time, Im sorry but you shouldnt have listened to so many flight school recriuters and done a little investigation work on your own. Everyone knows this is a crazy buisness to be in. Sometimes its bad, sometimes its really bad, but for the most part its better than any other career out there. Well at least thats the way I see it.
