As long as there are no furloughs... Although my wife brought up a point this evening. Even if I was to get furloughed, I PROBABLY can make more doing ANYTHING else, and still have a number at a "legacy". Always supportive she is. BTW, baby's good.
And the last thing, I don't do ferris wheels, nevermind ROLLERCOASTERS!!!

GOD I hate heights (I know, weird).
Thanks for the reply.
Your wife is spot on.
UAL is still way short on pilots; there are a TON of pilots who want to cut back on the number of hours they fly. Downgrades/furloughs are expensive. The loss of 15-20 737s aren't going to cause furloughs.
Unless UAL starts to park a ton of aircraft, you should have no problem getting through probation year.
Before UAL starts any furloughs, they will offer liberal leave of absence. Once you see that happen along with retirement packages, plan on getting furloughed.
Having spent 5 years on furlough, my best advice is to make multiple furlough plans. Failure to plan is planning to fail.
BTW - I return to United in April off of mil leave. I haven't turned a wheel since 2002. I kept my line number and am now able to get an active duty military retirement. No reason why you could have a successful career outside of aviation while on furlough. Think of it this way - this is an opportunity to do whatever you've wanted to do with your life and still have a line number.
