I don't dispute what you are writing but everything you pointed out was in play 20+ years ago except that reserve was worse because everyday on reserve had a short-call component and there was no long call (12 hour) call out. I find this demographic shift interesting....and, yet, confusing.
People have the mistakes of their predesessors to learn from. We all know that guy, married 3 times, LCA and kids are a total s show. The new Gen pilots seem to be a bit smarter at this game of life as well.
