Figure out where you want to live, then go to whichever allows you to live "in base." A little extra coin here and there is great and all, but you can't put a price on being home a bunch more throughout your 30s/40s/50s, which I much prefer over working like crazy to try and retire a few years. I moved legacy airlines for home basing and I couldn't be happier with the decision. Long Euro layovers were great and all, but after a while, it just meant more time not spent at home with family/doing hobbies. As someone eluded to above, every airlines quest for optimization is slowly squeezing the good deal stuff anyway. In the end, an overnight just becomes another overnight.
